I saw this on another board and thought though the new year has begun it would be nice to recap 2007 in order to put it behind me and move on to a better 2008.
January - Was living in AR working at Jackson Hewitt for my second tax season wondering how the bills were going to be paid since losing my job in October and collecting unemployment since then. While doing this I was finishing up my Associates degree in Business Administration.
Feburary- Tax season was in full swing and thing were going along rather nicely. Getting ready for my big move to Texas in May and preparing for graduation in May as well. Spending my weekends with M and enjoying every moment with him.
March - Tax Season was winding down from the initial rush of early filers and school was right on track. Still spending my weekends with M and reminding people that I did not need to date in order to have a fulfilled life.
April - Tax Season ended and I had a month to finish school and prepare for my move to Texas. Spending as much time with M knowing we would be apart for a month until he was in Texas at his dad's once school was over.
May - Graduation came and went and I was the proud recipent of an Associates Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. M's dad and step-mom had their twins early on the 1st and things were rocky for them. I moved to Texas two day's after graduation ready to begin my new life in a new city.
June - Settling into life in Texas and unpacking box's in the new apartment that I finally got after two weeks in a hotel. Looking for a job and welcoming M home after being apart for a month while he was finishing school. The ex was remarried at the end of June and a new chapter started for him as well as me.
July - This was a very hard month for M and his daddy. Money was starting to be tight with no job prospects in site. I was spending lots of time with M while his daddy and step-mom adjusted to married life and the twins. Sadly at the end of July they lost one of the twins to SIDS and that moment changed so many people's lives. M was to be sent back to Ar to spend time with his grandmother while his father delt with his life and I got myself back on my feet financially.
August - A little sun shined for me in August with me obtaining a full time job working for a company doing Accounts Payable. M turned 7 at the of end of the month and I went back to school again.
September - School was in full swing and I was slowly rebounding from not working for almost 4 months. M was doing well in 1st grade and dealing with the loss of his baby brother.
October - I turned 28 at the beginning of the month and wondered where the years went to. I saw M two day's before my birthday and I have missed him so much. School was on track and I was adjusting to my new job.
November - I passed my 90 days at my job and started to relax a little finally there. I spent Thanksgiving in Ar with M and his Nana.
December - This month brought a raise, a bonus, and the time of the year I love the most. M spent the last two weeks of December with me celebrating Yule, Christmas, and the New Year. Watching him leave was the hardest part and so bitter sweet.
I know I just need to hold on for 5 more months and then he will be back again and for good. Watching his father lose a child this year made me want to hold on to him a little tighter and made me realize how quickly we can lose things in just a blink of an eye. I close the door to 2007 hoping that some things will be left there and never repeated again. It was a year of big changes, good and bad. I look forward to a calmer more peaceful 2008 making new friends and settling into a stable life in Texas.
