Ok Velda for some reason thinks I have quirks and I have no idea where she comes up with this idea but well you tell me if I have quirks. :)

1. I have a slight issue with wanting to vacuum the carpet in the living room each time I spot the slightest crumb, some say OCD I say just like to keep things clean.

2. My pantry is organized into different sections and if I find something in the wrong spot I must move it immediately.

3. I can't stand finding loose hair on me, it drives me insane.

4. I have to plan my meals in advance and I do so by looking at three separate store ads, finding coupons, and making a list and I also go to a fourth store to see what I can find there when I am near it. I can not just go to the store without coupons or a list I get slightly crazy if forced to do so.

5. I don't like uneven amounts in my savings account, it must be a whole amount no change. Don't ask even I can't understand that one.

6. I can only handle so much spontaneity in life, if my schedule gets too off course I become very unfriendly.

Ok after looking at this list I must admit, I need to get some serious professional help and I am glad I have a friend like Velda who loves me despite my quirks.

I will have to update this post with my list when I get home when I have my list of blogs in front of me.

Fall Into Reading 2008

It's that wonderful time of year when leaves are turning, well not where I live in South Texas where fall consist of leaves turning brown and then falling off the tree. I sometimes miss the Autumns in the North where I grew up, the crisp air with vibrant shades of leaves, pumpkins waiting to be carved and cooked, apples ripe and ready for picking. Fall is such a nice time to slow down after the hetic summer of running here and there trying to have as much fun as possible. Sure school is back in session but things seem to fall into place and everyone has their schedule to follow. I have so many books on my to read list and I can't wait to get started. I am taking the challenge and hope to finish them all.

1. Bare Bones by Kathy Reichs
2. Break No Bones by Kathy Reichs
3. Cross Bones by Kathy Reichs
4. Deadly Decisions by Kathy Reichs
5. Death Du Jour by Kathy Reichs
6. Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs
7. Bones To Ashes by Kathy Reichs
8. Devil Bones by Kathy Reichs
9. Monday Mourning by Kathy Reichs
10. Fatal Voyage by Kathy Reichs
11. Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich
12. Quilters Kitchen: An Elm Creek Quilts Novel with Reciepes by Jennifer Chiaverini
13. Thai Die by Monica Ferris
14. A New Earth by Eckart Tolle

September Stitching Goal

This month I have planned the following:
Start Harvest Fairy by Mirabilia
Frame The Bookshelf by LHN
Frame a Halloween piece I received two years ago
Start and Finish a Halloween pattern yet to be chosen.

I finished The Bookshelf at the beginning of August and at that time I had very little done on Colonial Houses but I am happy to report that I have one house to complete and the bottom row and then it's done! I was hoping to have it completed by today but I can only sit still for so long but I made great progress this week considering last Monday I was only half way done with the piece and now I only have about 1/4 left to stitch on it for completion. I am going to try to finish in between breaks on Harvest Fairy but I am determined to finish Harvest Fairy and frame it by Thanksgiving this year. Will update with pictures as the month progresses.

8 Years Ago Today....

This came into my life:
and life couldn't be any better if I tried. These past 8 years have flown by and my life is richer having him in my life. I never knew how much him being a part of my life would not only make me a better person but in a way he saved me from a lot of destruction. I sometimes catching myself begging for time to slow down because it is going by way too quickly and it seems like only yesterday I was holding my breath and willing him to live. He came into this world at 4lbs screaming and fighting and he hasn't stopped since. I look forward to seeing him continuing becoming his own person and becoming this great man that I know some day he will be.

The Bookshelf

After getting over my stitching slump I have finished The Bookshelf by Little House Needleworks. I just love how it turned out and can't wait to frame it and hang it next to my bookshelf in my living room. I stitched it on 32ct Linen using DMC threads, I know I started it last year but I stopped keeping track of the time because it was taking away the joy I used to find in stitching. I am now currently working on finishing Colonial Houses by Little House Needleworks that upon completion will hang in my living room.
